LATEST IMMIGRATION NEWS
🔈️ The Minister for Home Affairs, Tony Burke MP, confirmed that planning levels for the 2025-26 Migration Program were to remain in line with those of 2024-25 at 185,000 places. State and Territory nomination allocations are yet to be determined.
📱 This month, the Department of Home Affairs expanded the use of their mobile app, the Australian Immi App, to an additional 10 countries. The app allows applicants who have previously provided fingerprint biometrics to submit their passport details and facial biometrics directly from their smartphones, saving the money and time involved with revisiting a biometric centre. A full list of locations where this service is available can be found on the Department’s website.
📩 Victoria have opened their state nominations ahead of the 2025–26 GSM program commencement. An interim allocation has been provided prior to the Department of Home Affairs’ confirmation of each State / Territory allocations, which consists of:
200 places for the Skilled Nominated (subclass 190) visa; and
180 places for the Skilled Work Regional (Provisional) (subclass 491) visa.
